Westport’s Colette Sweeney is the Queen of the Bridge Signs IWDS

Leaving her effort late and leaving everyone guessing the Westport Leisure park employee and athlete Colette Sweeney showed that she can compete as well as coach.  Between organising coaching and competing Colette didn’t know  where she lay in the Overall only completing her 7th event in Cong at the weekend her 9th place finish was not one of her best but in the overall she had done the work earlier rounds to secure the Bridge Signs Ireland West Duathlon Ladies  Champion.

Lynda Hession Hollymount Wheelers put in a gigantic effort in her first season racing Duathlon, she was one of the few ladies to take part in all 9 events and showed huge progress as the series went on. There is no doubt that she will be a serious contender in the seasons to come.

Joanne  O Boyle The Hurtlocker from the Johny Greany stable in Galway came from behind to nearly scoop 2nd overall, her form was building as the series progressed.

Nicola Forde Liquid motion another Ballina athlete to get into the prizes with a fine 4th overall, looking good ahead of the Tri season.

Grainne Kennedy AM Multisport Westport was another woman new to Duathlon racing and acquitted herself well with some very creditable performances.
