The Way Gearr 100k: Ideal for the spirited and adventurous souls, this route will push your limits and offer a chance to explore terrain that is as rugged as it is rewarding.

The Way Lar 250k: Embark on an epic journey. This route is designed for those who yearn for a super challenging day out.

The Way Fada 450K: An unforgettable two-day adventure expedition, allowing you to immerse yourself in the heartlands of Mayo, Ireland. It’s a true test of endurance and an opportunity to conquer the most demanding gravel terrain in Ireland.

Route information

The Way Gearr 100k

Location: The Quay Westport

Date: Saturday April 20th

Start time: 10am

Terrain: Mix of everything, including hike the bike.

Meters of climbing: 1300m

Feed stations: Self sufficient

Timing: Live tracking

Checks: Mandatory checks at designated points

Official finish: 8 hours to complete the route

Support: Event officials will provide some support such as drop bags, serve mechanical help and collection if necessary.

 

The Way Lar 250k

Location: The Quay Westport

Date: Saturday April 20th

Start time: 6am

Terrain: Mix of everything, including hike the bike.

Meters of climbing: 3000m

Feed stations: Self sufficient

Timing: Live tracking

Official finish: 17 hours to complete the route

Checks: Mandatory checks  at designated points

Support: Event officials will provide some support such as drop bags, serve mechanical help and collection if necessary.

The Way Fada 450k

Location: The Quay Westport

Date: Friday April 19th

Start time: 10am

Terrain: Mix of everything, including hike the bike.

Meters of climbing: 5000m +

Feed stations: Self sufficient

Timing: Live tracking

Official finish: 36 hours to complete the route

Checks: Mandatory checks at designated points

Support: Event officials will provide some support such as drop bags, serve mechanical help and collection if necessary.

The Way is a non-competitive event that traverses tracks, trails, ancient pathways and roads passing through villages and local communities. The event aims to leave No Trace except tyre marks respecting the Irish environment. Participants are encouraged to pause for meals, bike repairs, or sleep if necessary, provided they resume from where they left off last. The only race is against yourself and the cut off time to be regarded as an official finisher. GPS navigation is the guiding system, there will be no other route markings provided expect for spot checks by officials, strict adherence to Rules of the road and traffic laws are mandatory.
