After 12 weeks of manic running, transitions, cycling, more transitions and more running the Bridge Signs Ireland West Duathlon Series (IWDS) finally comes to a close.
Round 6 was promoted by Tri Lakes Triathlon club and held on the seriously tough Knockm course with a leg breaking run around the famous hill. The Bike course was held on a rolly 20k loop and the final run had a nice long drag to be negotiated before final down hill burst for the finish line. It was a fitting finish for the final round as only the strong and tough scooped the rewards.
All in all it was a great series, 6 rounds held at iconic venues of Claremorris, Hollymount, Ballinrobe, Enniscrone, Westport and Knockma. The series attracted everyone from the super dedicated elites to the ordinary joe who just wanted to have a go.. the mix was the key and everyone really enjoyed them.
